The Department of Basic Education has published the first set of draft regulations under the amended South African Schools Act, focusing on learner admissions and the determination of school capacity. 

This session will unpack the key content of the draft regulations, highlight the practical and legal implications for schools, and provide guidance on what governing bodies and principals should take note of at this stage. We will also explain the public comment process, including how and by when submissions must be made. FEDSAS will share its initial position and proposed input on the draft regulations.
